why do you run a business?

it's a question i get asked often being relatively young in the whole entrepreneurship game.

it's partially, of course, about being on the path to achieve lots of financial wealth. but more than that, i've thought of it as to be part of this game means you get to experience much more than an ordinary life. to experience the highest of highs and lowest of lows.

on one side, it's moments of high stress when things aren't working, managing difficult clients, finding yourself where motivation is no where to seen and you keep doubting and telling yourself to give up.

and other times when things are going well, you get to experience immense upside generating money no job salary could ever get you, working with a team who dedicate their full time hours, and celebrating at parties for a project you helped build for months.

i find meaning in this especially during low points. a life that's rich in experiences and emotions will always be one i'd choose over mediocrity.
